Movies play a significant role in our lives, says Tej Kohli. Hollywood has given us many movies that makes us want to take the first flight to the places they are set in. Below Tej Kohli enlists some popular movies that may inspire you to travel.

The Beach

The first film in this list is The Beach. This Danny Doyle film is based on a popular novel and was filmed on a famous holiday island of Koh Phi Phi. The star cast consists of Leonardo Di Caprio and Tilda. The film showcased the journey of a backpacker in search of a paradise. With breathtaking images of the crystal blue sea and the vast sand beaches, it’s no wonder if you feel like grabbing your passport and book a couple ticket to Thailand.

Shirley Valentine

It is another awesome picture that’s has genuinely motivated British consumers to jet off abroad. Shirley Valentine, is a classic tale of a middle aged woman enjoying a passionate holiday romance in Greece. Based on a play, this film revolves around a Liverpudlian housewife, who flies off to Greece with her best friend, leaving nothing but a note for her husband on the kitchen table. This is the story of self-realization and awareness which has inspired many to live life in the moment.

Roman Holiday

Roman holiday is a classic lover story set in Rome. The movie features the beautiful Audrey Hepburn in the character of a European princess Ann, who is on a diplomatic trip to the Italian capital. On a fateful night, she runs away from the palace and becomes friend with an American journalist through a dramatic series of events. The journalist ends up spending the day with her pretending that he’s not aware of her princess status. Tej Kohli‘s favorite scene in the movie is where they visit the mysterious Mouth of Truth.

A Little Romance

This movie takes you on an enchanting journey to the three main cities in Europe – Paris, Venice and Verona. The movie follows the story of a rich American girl who moves to Paris and falls for a poor French boy. On discovering that a kiss under the Bridge of sighs in Venice will seal them in bond forever, they both head to Italy. The movie features some magnificent views of Europe that will make you visit that place.

The Gods Must Be Crazy

If Africa has never been on your list of your places to travel, perhaps after watching this movie you will change your mind. It’s a heart warming story of Bushmen who reside in a small village of Kalahari desert. They find out a coke bottle that someone has thrown out and this fills the residents with a sense of curiosity. After they fail to understand what it could have been used for, their chief announces that it is a gift from god that must be returned.

Tej Kohli has recently been to Italy with his family. Italy is not like every second tourist destination. This place has a distinct appeal and swathes a rich heritage of culture.

Dare il benvenuto all’Italia ( Welcome to Italy) – Tej Kohli
When in Rome you should always do as the Romans do. This may be a cliché of sorts but it also applies to any Italy travel that you may undertake n the near future. Italy is not extremely strict on what outsiders coming in do, but they will not thank you for any disruption to their customs or way of life either! This is why it is important to do a little research before you go!
Italy travel can be a whole lot of fun, but not if you flaunt your own beliefs if they are completely different to the Italian way of life. Italians are extremely proud people and will not tolerate any form of outside interference. For example, family is extremely important to them and if you show disrespect they will protect their own interests and call you on it. Always be respectful, no matter what. Italy is a very traditional country and the man is still responsible for the household. This will become apparent in restaurants if you dine as a couple. The waiter will always speak to the man and not the woman!
You will find that Italy has an extremely laid back way of life, which is perfect for a holiday but bear in mind that there is a siesta time. Although you can still be out and about at that time during your Italy travel, do not expect any help from people until it ends. This is more in the south than the north because of the heat. However, no matter where you go, there are little customs that you should be aware of so do your research in advance.
